How to distinguish whether the stretched film is toxic or not?
We know that plastics are toxic, but not all plastics are toxic. The PE material we use to make stretch film is a non-toxic material, but some stretch film manufacturers use PVC material, which is a toxic substance. So how should we distinguish whether the stretch film is made of toxic PVC material?

1、 Smell
Smelling is a very direct method of discrimination. Usually, when we smell the stretch film made of PE material, we don't smell a strong smell. On the contrary, we may smell an aroma that makes the stretch film more acceptable; When you smell the stretch film made of PVC material, you will smell a very pungent plastic smell. Even the use of additives or other aromatics can not completely cover up this plastic smell.
2、 Burn
Cut off a small piece of the stretch film, and then put it on the alcohol lamp for combustion. Observe the combustion phenomenon. Generally, the toxic winding film is mostly made of cheap PVC, which is non flammable and extinguished immediately after leaving the fire. The bottom of the flame is green and the tip of the flame is yellow. After extinguishment, it has the ammonia smell of hydrochloric acid gas. Poor quality can also see black smoke obviously; The stretch film made of PE material is a combustible winding film. It will still burn after leaving the fire, but when it burns, the flame at the bottom is blue and the flame tip is yellowish. During combustion, there will be melt dripping and a smell of paraffin.
Have you mastered the different methods of winding and stretching film? These two simple methods can distinguish the materials of most winding and stretching films on the market, so that we can also stay away from those winding and stretching films made of inferior toxic materials.
